It has been difficult to find words to express my feelings in response to the coronavirus pandemic—its toll on human lives around the world, the strain on healthcare workers, the unknown magnitude and duration of its impact, the economic fallout, the general anxiety, and the divisiveness within our society as we seek solutions and find no easy answers. Composing SONG WITHOUT WORDS during this time was an attempt to confront and express these feelings, to accept the realities, and to act with hope and constructive intent.
