Reflection was Kim’s first ever instrumental composition. Although violin is his primary instrument, Kim took lessons in guitar during high school and enjoyed participating in solo performances and musical pit orchestras—most notably Godspell and Big River with the University of Virginia’s First Year Players in 1998 and 1999. This short, contemplative work gave Kim a new outlet for expression during one of the more trying periods of his life.
